This guide explains how to connect your broker (and only when applicable, a bank that offers a trading API), generate API keys, and start 24×7 auto-trading. Clear steps. No jargon.
Who is this for?
- First-time investors who want a simple, safe setup.
- Users linking a broker for automated trading.
- Users whose bank also acts as a broker and provides API keys (rare).
⏱️ Typical first-time setup: 10–20 minutes (most time is generating keys at your broker).
Privacy, Storage & Deletion
- We do not capture, copy, or keep your API Key or Secret. They are used once to complete the connection and are immediately discarded. They are not saved in any database and are not written to logs.
- You remain in full control of your credentials inside your broker/bank account. You can regenerate or revoke them anytime.
- App data you see in SimpleAITrade (plans, tips, logs, etc.) is your account data. If you want to remove everything: go to Account Settings → Delete account & data. This permanently removes your profile and all app-side data.
- For complete disconnect, also revoke/delete API keys in your broker (and bank-broker if connected) after deleting your account.
🔒 We only request minimal permissions required to read positions and place trades you authorize. We never request withdrawal/transfer permissions.
Before You Start
- Create or log in to your broker account. If you don’t have one, open 24×7 Setup and use the Open Account link beside a supported broker.
- Enable API access in your broker dashboard and generate an API Key & Secret. (Look for “API”, “Developer”, or “Trading API”. Some brokers use OAuth pop-ups.)
- Store your keys safely (password manager/secure notes). You’ll paste them once into SimpleAITrade.
- Optional funding: deposit funds with your broker so trades can execute.
Important: Most regular banks do not offer trading APIs to retail users. You do not need to connect a bank for deposits/withdrawals—these happen in your broker’s portal. Only connect a “bank” here if it is actually a brokerage that gives you an API Key & Secret.
Step 1 — Connect Your Broker
- Go to 24×7 Auto-Trading Setup and choose your broker. Use Open Account and API Docs links if needed.
- In your broker’s site, create an API Key and API Secret (or complete OAuth). Keep them in your password manager.
- Back on the 24×7 page, paste the API Key & Secret and click Connect Broker. You’ll see Connected! if successful.
Permissions we use
- Read portfolio & place trades you authorize.
- No withdrawal/transfer permissions requested.
How keys are handled
- Not stored. Used in-memory to complete the connection, then discarded.
- Never written to logs or a database.
Troubleshooting
- “Invalid key/secret” → regenerate keys; remove extra spaces when pasting.
- “Permission denied” → enable trading permissions for the key in your broker dashboard.
- OAuth popup blocked → allow popups for SimpleAITrade and retry.
- Still stuck? Use the broker’s API Docs link on the 24×7 page.
Step 2 — Connect a Bank (Only if it’s a Broker)
Skip this unless your bank runs a trading platform and gives you an API Key & Secret. We do not ask for IBAN, SWIFT, or account numbers.
- Select your bank-broker on the 24×7 Setup page.
- Generate API keys in the bank’s trading portal (API/Developer section).
- Paste keys and click Save/Connect. You’ll see Bank Connected! if successful.
Step 3 — Choose Your Tickers
- We combine your AI Investment Plan with live community tips (auto-refreshing).
- Select at least one ticker to continue; you can also type any symbol manually.
Step 4 — Set Your Global Stop-Loss
Enter a percentage (e.g., 5 for 5%). This is a safety net while the bot trades 24×7.
Step 5 — Activate 24×7 Auto-Trading
Review your selections and click Activate 24×7 Auto-Trading. You’ll see a live activity log for each order. Pause/stop anytime.
🔒 Disconnect anytime. Keys aren’t stored; delete your account in Settings to remove app-side data, and revoke keys in your broker for full disconnect.
Delete All Your Data (Optional)
- Open Account Settings in SimpleAITrade.
- Click Delete account & data and confirm.
- Then in your broker (and bank-broker if used), revoke/delete your API key(s).
This permanently removes your profile, plans, tips, logs, and other app-side data from our systems.
